Your Will & Trusts or Business Questions
Estate planning seeks to answer the question - "what happens to my property
when I die?" or How to start or Run or Set Up a Business. Wills and trusts are
often used to help answer this question.
A will directs how a person's property
is to be distributed after death. A trust is a form of property ownership that
provides for the management, maintenance and preservation of property by a
"trustee." Understanding how wills and trusts work is important to understanding
the implications of their validity, or invalidity, as the case may be.
Mr. Collins has written over 20 articles in both legal and business journals and
wrote and appeared in a video series known as Common Sense Law.
The firm also concentrates on enabling clients to maintain control over their
health care and financial affairs for as long as possible by planning in advance
of disability. This is done through health care documents such as powers of
attorney, living wills and health care surrogates. By preparing these documents
clients are able to let their desires be known and name an agent to act on their
behalf and carry out their desires if they are unable to do so.
